New York City high school students call on Mayor De Blasio to protect funds for the beloved Summer Youth Employment Program, which provides paid summer jobs to 75,000 teens, many of whom come from communities hit
hardest by the Coronavirus.
They also shouted out ExpandED’s efforts to retool and save these vital summer work opportunities.
“ExpandED Schools, an organization that leverages afterschool and out-of-school opportunities to advance educational equity, is planning to put youth to work in jobs aimed at supporting their communities.”
