After-School Trainer Competencies

This tool, developed by the TASC Training Advisory Committee members, is designed for site supervisors, site coordinators and line staff.

The main objectives of this tool are:

1) to provide the necessary guidelines that will help after-school staff become effective facilitators and trainers and ensure that the transfer of knowledge benefits all program staff members;

2) to support quality capacity building efforts;

3) to contribute to the development of a career pathway in after-school professional development; and

4) to encourage after-school leadership staff to go beyond one-time training and create ongoing opportunities for staff development that strengthen the after-school workforce.
